Lavera is the leader in 100% Natural Sun Protection. Micro-minerals protect as they build an almost invisible film on the skin to reflect dangerous UVA, B and C rays. Skin is protected against UV damages, sun-induced aging and sunburn. UVA penetrates the skin deeper than UVB and causes wrinkling and photoaging. UVA may directly cause some skin cancers, including melanomas. UVB causes sunburn faster than UVA light and causes basal and squamous cell carcinomas. lavera offers safe alternatives with Titanium Dioxide to protect from broad spectrum UV rays that burn and photoage skin.

Recently released scientific studies prove that chemical sunscreens have unintended detrimental consequences. The chemical compounds in sunscreens can accumulate in body fats, in mother's breast milk and can cause hormonal changes within the body. These chemicals mimic estrogen, and induce hormonal activities, like increasing the size of the uterus in women. Lavera chooses to use 100% natural mineral sunblocks in the SUN product line for skin protection to maintain the normal healthy functioning of internal organs and reproductive hormones.

Lavera mineral sunblocks are able to protect against UVA, UVB and UVC sun rays. Sun Protection Factor (SPF) indicates how long you can stay in the sun without skin irritation or getting sunburned by UV B rays. There is no standard to measure protection for UV A rays yet. The amount of time you can stay outside before burning varies from 5 to 30 minutes according to your skin type. (Fair skin 5-10 min. Olive skin 15 min. Dark skin 20-30 min.) Multiply SPF with your skin type to know how long your skin can stay out before burning. With SPF 20, olive skin can stay out before burning for 5 hours (15 x 20 = 300 min.)
